PHC Women's Recruitment

Dear Potential New Members,

Congratulations on your outstanding academic achievements in high school and for being admitted to the Texas Christian University Class of 2012.  The faculty, staff, alumni and students are anticipating your August arrival.  We believe the next four years will be an exciting time in your life.

In the upcoming weeks, you will receive information from the Panhellenic Association directing you to the TCU Fraternity and Sorority Life Web page (www.greeks.tcu.edu) for Fall 2008 Formal Sorority Recruitment information.  We hope you will consider joining the over 1,000 students that will participate in Fall Recruitment.

In order to assist you in the Recruitment process, we want to outline several regulations that the eleven NPC sororities at TCU have established.

  1. Alcohol is strictly prohibited during any Recruitment activity.
  2. No potential new member of a sorority should attend any fraternity recruitment event regardless of who sends the invitation.  These parties are prohibited.
  3. You cannot attend any tea, alumnae event, dinner, lunch, breakfast or any event hosted by a sorority, sorority members or sorority alumnae beginning May 10, 2008.
  4. You cannot spend the night with any member of a sorority before, during or after Frog Camp and/or Orientation.
  5. You cannot contact any member or alumnae of a sorority via Facebook, MySpace or any other online social network.
  6. You are strongly encouraged to obtain recommendations for each organization.  A list of mailing addresses for each organization can be found on the Fraternity and Sorority Life Web page.
  7. You must complete your registration materials online via the Fraternity and Sorority Life Web page.  Registration materials will be posted by June 1, 2008 and we encourage you to complete the registration material by July 15, 2008; however, we will accept registration materials up to August 18, 2008.

If you choose to violate one of the guidelines that were established by our 11 sororities, your opportunity for success during recruitment will decrease.  If one of our chapters, members or alumnae breaks one of the policies, it is a poor reflection on the sorority and we strongly encourage you to contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at 817-257-7281.

We are confident you will enjoy TCU and truly hope you will consider participating in Panhellenic Recruitment.  Our academic standards, philanthropic endeavors, leadership, development and so much more will enhance your experience in college.

If you have any questions or comments about this letter or anything pertaining to Recruitment, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at 817-257-7281.

Fraternally,

Recruitment Guide (Rho Gamma)
The recruitment guide or Rho Gamma program is designed to provide the potential new member with upper-class mentors affiliated with our (inter) national women’s Panhellenic chapters. A Rho Gamma guides potential new members through the recruitment process and supports recruitment groups by answering questions about fraternity and sorority life and college life in general. Affiliation of the Rho Gamma’s is kept confidential throughout the recruitment process so they may remain unbiased representatives of the Panhellenic Chapters.

At Recruitment Orientation, all potential new members will have the opportunity to meet their three recruitment guides and fellow group members. Please feel free to ask any questions and know that the Rho Gammas are there to help you!
