More Information on Men's Recruitment

The recruitment process for men is one of many opportunities at the University in which a student can develop close friendships. Recruitment is a three day process in which every potential member is given the freedom to visit all ten fraternity chapters at Texas Christian University. Each day of the process presents the potential new member with the possibility of meeting new people and finding his niche in the fraternity/sorority community. The first day of recruitment involves the Orientation and first round. The Orientation provides each individual with important information about the process, recruitment rules and times of the events.

On Sunday every potential new member is required to visit all ten fraternities. Note: if you have a class on Monday or any other evening, please talk with the IFC VP Recruitment as soon as possible so we can make special arrangements for your schedule. We do not want you to miss class for the process. After round one, the potential new members fill out forms stating which fraternities they would like to visit again. At the same time, fraternities choose individuals that they would like to invite back. Once this has taken place, IFC matches the two and creates invitation lists for attendance at the recruitment events for round two. This makes recruitment a mutual selection process. This process continues throughout the week of recruitment. Finally, the last day of recruitment is known as Bid Day. Each potential new member must sign the bid card of the fraternity that he wishes to join. After signing this card, he is recognized as a new member of that particular organization.

We look forward to seeing you in the fall!
